When Sadness is at Your Door

We discussed our last "feelings family" today!

Breathing helps us manage all feelings!

We warmed up our bodies with the "flying cow sequence."๐Ÿฎ

Then we moved like the moon!๐ŸŒ›

 Triangle Pose is a Heart Opening Pose.

 Fish Pose is a Heart Opening Pose.

A feeling family has a range of intensity!  The feeling can be small or large or somewhere in between.
We organized the color tiles by shades of color. We talked about moving feelings in small ways, one breath at a time.๐ŸŒˆ
We twisted our mermaids and mermans!

We closed with resting and considering our thoughts and feelings as "mind bubbles!"  Like a soap bubble, these will eventually "POP!"  We can allow our thoughts and feelings to be.  We can manage them well with our yoga!

Conquering Fears

 This week at Kids Yoga, we worked on several strategies to manage our fears!  First, "Name It to Tame It."

Fox-y Feelings





Fox-y Feelings are the pleasant ones!  We made foxes at our yoga practice today.

We enjoyed sharing yoga with future yoga teachers.  Thank you for playing with us!๐Ÿงก

 Feeling Families include: Mad, Glad, Sad, and Scared

 Breathing helps us manage all feelings!  All Feelings are OK, even when they don't feel okay to feel.

 We focused on the pleasant feelings and called them "fox-y" because foxes make one yogi very happy!๐ŸฆŠ
 What else makes you happy?  Spending time with the family!  We built a snowman with our families.
 "Hi, everyone, I'm Olaf, and I like warm hugs!"

 We moved our hug into an "eagle pose!"

 One yogi shared yoga makes her happy.  Her favorite yoga pose was . . .

During rest, we took a magic carpet ride! You can think of a time and place you felt pleasant feelings and remember it at a later time and experience pleasant feelings from remembering.
