zipaDeeBee Well

Pleasant Hill Elementary School challenged families to "book charades" yesterday!  Here's yoga movements to a fun story:  https://youtu.be/fHDMQGArT9Q The book is Kevin the Unicorn: It's Not All Rainbows by Jessika von Innerebner!
I'm still working on a "yoga for social distancing" plan . . . In the meantime, young folks might enjoy "Cosmic Kids" YouTube Channel and young at heart folks try out "Yoga with Adrienne" YouTube Channel.  The Pink Lotus Yoga Center in Lexington also has a YouTube Channel and is sharing great videos!

Here's a great thought from the school (Maryland University of Integrative Health) I'm hoping to go to next year for Yoga Therapy training:

"Finding Gratitude In Times of Fear and Uncertainty
As COVID-19 uncertainty grips the nation, fear can be a normal response. Our state of being is changing, as schools close, officials cancel events and conferences, shoppers empty store shelves, investments plummet, and deaths increase. Worry abounds about our health and that of our loved ones during this global health emergency. Fear is contagious, just like the novel coronavirus. Sounds like a great time for a prescription for calm, staying grounded, and boosting your immune system to boot!

A dose of gratitude during a tumultuous time can be an antidote for fear and support your health and well-being. It helps you keep things in perspective, serves as a catalyst for self-care, keeps you grounded, and is a reminder of all the positives that still ARE present in the midst of chaos and uncertainty. Gratitude has been shown to reduce stress and enhance the immune system. And it’s free!

Gratitude Action Step
Stop what you’re doing, take a deep breath, and shift your mindset to all the positives in your life – your family, your friends, your community, your passions.

Focus on what’s right with your life and the difference you can make by taking actions like personal hygiene, cough-sneeze etiquette, social distancing to help protect the elderly, and following all the other recommendations provided by the CDC. It may not be easy or convenient, but instead of focusing on how it’s changed your life, focus on the many blessings in the storm.

Developing a gratitude practice now will have long-lasting effects that will carry you through life long after this virus is gone."

zipaDeeBee well, yogi friends!

LEAP Year Frog Fun

What is a LEAP year?  It's an opportunity to explore FROG FUN.🐸

If YOU were a frog, one leap would equal a jump from home plate to first base!!!🙌

We read Dev Petty's I Don't Want to Be a Frog to practice more yoga poses.🧘

Frogs hop like rabbits, but they don't have long ears . . . 🐇

The little frog thinks being a pig would be better than a frog!🐖

The little frog AND his Dad think being an owl would be really cool!🦉

But a WOLF helps the little frog realize it's best for him to be a frog.🐺

Being a frog is better than being a fly . . . Here we are, rocking our "dead bug" yoga pose?!🕷

We rested in the well with the Frog Prince . . . 👑

Namaste, Froggie Friends!🙏
