Earth Day EVERY Day

Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22.  It is a day to think about our responsibility to take care of the world and all the creatures in it.
We read a book about animals and
pretended to be them!

 "Shark Fin" Namaste

We passed the world with care to remember to live in our world with care.💙💚💙💚💙
A mudra is yoga for your hands.  This one is called "Whole World." We sang "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" while practicing this mudra. 🌎
"Namaste is what we say to the good in you from the good in me."
"Say 'Namaste' everyday, and the WORLD will live in harmony!"🎵

Have Courage to Challenge Your Core

We tried these tummy strengtheners at yoga tonight! This is the first one:
Squeeze the yoga block between your legs in "boat pose." Lift the arms on the inhale and lower them on the exhale.

Here's another:
Extend one leg and bend the other. Pass the yoga block under the bent knee to the opposite hand.
Switch legs (extend and bend opposites), then pass the yoga block under the bent leg to the starting side.
Repeat and work each side the same number of times like this:

Here's the third one:
Rest the yoga block on the shins. Pull the knees in, reach for the yoga block, and stretch the arms overhead while holding the yoga block. Squeeze knees back to chest and balance the yoga block on the shins while extending the legs and arms long.

Easter Yoga

We made a plan to alternate Easter Yoga poses with our favorites!

Hannah played Bunny Hopping Music while we hopped and danced around the circle!
When the music stopped, we pretended to be a . . .

 an Easter chick🐥

 a horse kickin' its legs🐴

 The Easter Bunny breathing🐰

and holding his ears prettily🐇

an Easter lily ⚘

and "L handstand."

We relaxed with "hot rocks"
and a story about a butterfly🦋 and lots of colorful, spring flowers.⚘⚘⚘
Happy Easter, Yogis!

3 Billy Goats Sad

"Sometimes sadness arrives unexpectedly.  It follows you around . . . and sits so close to you, you can hardly breathe."~When Sadness Is At Your Door by Eva Eland

When you feel sad, feel it.🙁 You don't want to feel sad or like to feel sad, but it is okay to feel sad.  It is normal to experience sadness from time to time.  When you welcome the unpleasant feeling, you are able to experience it and ride it like a surfer on a wave.  You can talk to someone, go for a walk, draw, or think a happy thought when you feel sad. #mrsbroamhats #allfeelingsareokay #mrsbroamALWAYSlearning

Bunny Trouble Yoga

Breathe like a bunny!🐰

In Bunny Trouble by Hans Wilhelm,

Ralph was a rabbit who loved to play soccer.⚽

We kicked our legs forward,
side to side, and around and around!

Ralph kicked his soccer ball when he should have been decorating eggs at Bunny School . . .
and he kicked his soccer ball into his sister Liza's birthday cake?!🎂

Because he broke so many eggs, the bunnies and chickens asked him to kick his soccer ball somewhere else.  He went off to the woods to play:

He was caught by a farmer because he was kicking his soccer ball in the farmer's cauliflower fields.  He was in a locked cage, so we tried the Human Knot Game . . .
but we could NOT free ourselves (and neither could Liza spring Ralph from his cage)?!

So Liza came up with a new plan!
She put a basket of Easter eggs in Ralph's cage . . .

And everyone thought HE was the Easter Bunny!

Ralph learned to get his work done, then play soccer! He "Put First Things First," Happy Kid Habit #3!
Next week, we'll do Easter Yoga!  Get your work done so we can play on Thursday!🐇
