Color Monster

We are ready to yoga!

We read a good book about separating your feelings when you feel overwhelmed with so many emotions!  Yoga is one way we can get a handle on your Color Monster! When you yoga to manage emotions,  (1) Nobody gets hurt (2) Nothing gets broken!
The Color Monster's colors are similar to "Inside Out" movie colors!

When you are feeling sad, try a TREE POSE to feel more balanced!🌳

When you are feeling scared, a deep fold like TURTLE POSE can soothe and calm!🐒

Roll a yoga dice to practice a variety of postures:

We climbed a rainbow during "final rest" today!
What's at the end of your rainbow?🌈

Yogis Draw Feelings

We continued to explore feelings with our yoga today!πŸ˜„πŸ˜”

When you take deep breaths, you can calm a BIG feeling!
Moving our elbows together and apart is breathing like bellows.

Ferris Wheel Breath is breathing in as you ride the ferris wheel to the top of the ride, then breathing out as you come back to where you started.🎑

Breathing with flower mudra.⚘

Folding your body is also calming.
Pretending to be a turtle is a deep fold.🐒

When you are angry, you may feel like a volcano!πŸŒ‹

We rested while listening to a good story.

Then we practiced drawing how we felt!

YOGA is one way to manage our feelings in a healthy way! Working with ART is another.πŸ–ŒπŸŽ¨πŸ–✎

We're WILD about FEELINGS and YOGA!!

We're BACK!  Yay for Yoga and how it helps us work our feelings in a healthy way.πŸ™‚ We explored the feelings and animals in this good book during Tuesday's practice:

We took deep breaths to get started!

We were strong like mountains, stable even when the ground "rattles and rolls." Here Mrs. Broam gives "an earthquake!" to a strong yogi!

"Feeling chicken" is an unpleasant feeling.  It's okay to feel unpleasant feelings.  We don't like or want to. But it's okay to feel them. πŸ”

Here we are strutting our chickens and roostersπŸ“around the barnyard:

Here we are as howling "lone" wolves🐺

and "batty" batsπŸ¦‡, hanging around:

Breathing like a LION when you are angry may help manage this emotion!🦁

Yoga soothes your WILD Feelings!πŸ˜ πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜’πŸ˜“πŸ˜”πŸ˜–πŸ˜œπŸ˜£πŸ˜§πŸ˜©πŸ˜ͺ😫😳

We wrapped with a Magic Carpet Ride!  Another great strategy for taking care of your emotional health.🧞

Thank you for taking our pictures, Hannah, so we can share our yoga fun with others!πŸ“Έ
We are glad to be back yoga-ing at Pisgah CDM! #weloveyoga

Yoga Under the Sea

Put your hands on your heart and belly.  Can you move your hands with your deep breath?

We moved like the sunshine to warm up for our yoga work!

Is your mountain strong?

Today we explored Eric Carle's A House for Hermit Crab.

Hermit crab was too big for his shell, so he set off in search of a new one!

His shell was plain so he decorated it with a sea anemone!

He also added a snail.

Here's our lantern fish that lights up Hermit Crab's house!

We completed our practice with a twist . . .

and rest.

What does your house look like?🏑
