BEE Strong

This pose is called "Mountain." Every muscle in the body engages.  It improves your posture!  When practiced regularly, it may reduce back pain.  This pose is an opportunity to work your thighs, knees, ankles, tummy, and bum.  Today is International Day of Yoga!  The aim is to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga.  You do not have to be a pretzel to yoga.  You do not have to have a certain body type or fitness level.  Yoga is like a buffet, and everybody can eat! You pick the foods that are just right and not too spicy.🌶 Yoga doesn't ask you to believe anything, although you have the opportunity to sit still and quiet and explore what you do believe.  Yoga encourages you to listen: to your body, to others, to the world . . .

Buzz! Buzz! BLOOM!

What's the Buzz on Wednesday? Check out the bee in the flower! The BLOOM is the BEST! These cacti were in bloom at the end of May.🌵

You can BLOOM every time you yoga.  Here's how one yogi described the feeling:  "Thank you for teaching the yoga class. I always seem to be more mentally clear and always less stressed after your class."
A consistent yoga practice includes physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social/relational benefits!
The balance you create is for every part of you and your life.
You strengthen your concept of "Circle of Control," contributing to your overall peace and contentment.
Are you ready to yoga yet? #iloveyoga #ithinkyoushouldyogawithme

Triangle Tuesday

"We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails."⛵~Dolly Parton (DP)
DPB (D'Etta Price Broam) says, "Try a Triangle on Tuesday!" It's an opportunity to "adjust your sails?!" You'll also stretch and strengthen your legs, hip, and back! You'll tone the knees and ankles, open chest and shoulders while you rev up your digestive system and relieve stress.
Here's a triangle in Wilmington, NC!

Here's one at Edisto Beach, SC!

You could do one anywhere . . . even Bermuda???!◢◣

Half Moon for Full Moon

Tonight is a FULL MOON! 🌝 Try a "Half Moon Yoga Pose" to celebrate. 🌛 The benefits of any balancing posture include sharpening focus and concentration skills.  This movement also relieves anxiety and fatigue, improves digestion, and tones abs, thighs, glutes, and lower back muscles.  You can use a wall, chair, or yoga block for support as needed.

g-r-o-W-I-n-G!

The United Nations proclaimed June 21 as International Day of Yoga in December 2014.  The aim is to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga.  The theme in 2019 is "Climate Action."  Here's some trees to create cleaner air and a better world in which to breathe!🌎
"Tree Yoga Pose" stretches legs, body, and shoulders.  It strengthens ankles, calves, and tones the tummy.  It's helpful for those of us with flat feet or sciatica issues.🌳
"Blown Palm Yoga Pose" stretches the side body, lengthening the oblique stomach muscles and the intercostal muscles between the ribs.🌴
