We reviewed pictures of our first day of fun:
We practiced our yoga:
Then we rested:
Our yogART was watercolors today!
"Center Time" gives campers a chance to explore self-directed learning opportunities!
We worked on scoring a field goal, not a fumble, when managing angry feelings!
Our Peace Builder today was Wangari Maathai!
She planted trees in her native Kenya. As the founder of the Green Belt Movement, she was the first African woman to win a Nobel Peace Prize. Here's a link to the video of her telling a story about doing the best you can:
We breathe in clean air and then breath out "dirty air." Trees "breath in" the "dirty air" and "breathe out" clean air!
"BEE Here Now" is the time we practice a mindfulness activity.
Draw a "zipaDeeBee"to remember what to do when practicing mindfulness. "B," "H," and "N" represent what you have to do: Be Here Now. Draw the "eyes" to remember to consider your focus. Draw the "feet" to be grounded. What part of you is touching the ground? Draw the "nose" for deep breathing. The stripes on the bee can be labeled "in" for an inhale and "out" for the exhale.
Today's mindfulness activities included a labyrinth and lava lamp.
We closed our day celebrating why we do what we do!
See you for No Drama LLAMAs on Wednesday at Yoga Camp!
